how to remove this and organize my bp-links

okay guys in the content area of the activity stream we have the user’s avatar and @user-name’s thing with the sign which says active how long ago and then we got the bp-links right under that so my question is how can I remove this avatar and it’s details right next to it and also add color background to bp-links plus lined them up horizontally from left to right.
