Make Users Mods of the Activity Stream

Is there a way to make users mods of the activity stream like you can do with groups? It would be so helpful to have mods help with keeping the activity stream clean and tidy, but I do not want them to be admin and have any access to the main site dashboard.

Currently – no such plugin and no built-in functionality.
But a good idea for a plugin
