Mentions did not work?!

Hi, I try to get the Mentions feature to work, but unsuccessful. How does it work anyway? When I type, for example, @buddygalaxy or any usernames on my site, http://buddygalaxy.com, it does nothing?! It does not link to that member’s profile as it supposes to when someone has mentioned his/her name?! But, on buddypress.org it does work, like @sobuddy. Someone please explain. Thanks!
