    @popsmith

    When my users go to the site and attempt to register they get an error message upon clicking the “Complete Sign Up”blank page and this is what they get:
    Website http://www.theroute360.com
    The website cannot display the page
    HTTP 500
    Most likely causes:
    •The website is under maintenance.
    •The website has a programming error.

    What you can try:
    Refresh the page.

    Go back to the previous page.

    More information

    This error (HTTP 500 Internal Server Error) means that the website you are visiting had a server problem which prevented the webpage from displaying.

    For more information about HTTP errors, see Help.

    I am using WordPress 3.51 and Buddpress 1.7.
    Everything else seems to be working fine.

    Ok. I did try diabling anyone can register under members in the general tab setting and this time it goes to a page that says users can’t register for this site. So I am thinking it is somewhere in there. I did try disabling all plugins but that didnt help..

    @popsmith have you tried disabling all plugins except BuddyPress to check for plugin conflict?

    @mercime…yes I tried disabling all plugins and it did not work. I also tried disabling buddypress plugin by itself and that worked. I then also tried disabling anyone can register in the general settings and I do get the message that user are not allowed register for the site. Most frustrating…

    Please contact your web host for support, and ask them to look in the PHP error log for any error messages — then tell us, and we can try to help.

    @mercime
    – 500s are server-side errors (a WSOD) so finding out what the actual error is the best first step 🙂

    Talk to my web host and this is the error

    “20130411T145228: http://www.theroute360.com/index.php
    PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function add() on a non-object in /****/****/***/****/ipw.popsmith/public_html/theroute/wp-content/plugins/terms-of-use-2/classes/controllers/TouAppController.php on line 311”
    So I found the culprit. the terms of use plugin. disabled it and uninstalled. ISSUE RESOLVED.

    Mod Edit: edited to remove server dir names – don’t expose server paths in public
