Registration Page not working

    Hello,

The reason I am posting here is because, we recently used buddypress on one of our websites. The registration page, has some issues.

    To see the page: http://hopeunlimited.in/register/

    The issues are:
    – The registration page after we click join, tries to register but comes up with the register page, with just the password and description fields blank. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t
    – We use 2 different passwords but it doesn’t show any errors.

We have read all the posts (here as well as other sites) applicable to these issues and to no avail.

    Hosts:
It was working initially on bluehost, we changed it as it was having some downtime, to godaddy, it didn’t work there and then we changed it to hostgator and it initially did work but afterwards it just stopped. On some computers it does and on some it doesn’t

    Version:
    Wp: 3.5.1 Bp: 1.6.4

Any help in this regard would be much appreciated. Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

As I have seen a lot of sites having the same problem. Is this a known issue in Buddypress?

    Please do let us know.

you’d need to identify the changes you made in your installation (aside from the multiple host transfers) before registration started acting up.
    – Did you change themes before that happened?
    – What theme are you using?
    – If you change to BP Default theme, is registration issue corrected?
    – Did you add/remove any plugin/s recently?
    – If you deactivate such plugin/s, does registration work with BP Default? With your theme?

Thank you for your quick response.
To answer some of your questions:
    – What theme are you using?: This is a custom theme we built
    – If you change to BP Default theme, is registration issue corrected?: yes it does work, strangely, before it didn’t work, hence we changed the host.
    – With all plugins active, it works on the BP default theme.

Any suggestions as to where we can start looking into the problem that we have? Thank you for your time and valuable feedback.

Funny thing, I was able to register once with the default theme. But when I try again it doesn’t register.

These are the steps we followed, before and after changing the host:
    – Deactivated all plugins except buddypress: nothing changed.
    – We re-installed BP, but no change

Currently we have only the default theme and only plugin that is active is Buddypress.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It’s funny, but this is what I have found an issue with my own site.

    – it works when on default BP theme.
    – When I activate our custom theme, the registration doesn’t work.
    – After I deactivate our custom theme, and enable the default BP theme, it doesn’t work, until I do a cache refresh. After that it works just fine.

So maybe there is an issue with our theme, not sure, any help would be much appreciated.

Based on the available page you have in your site for logged out users — the registration page, BuddyPress is not even activated at all.
