Does anyone know how to return the current group id?

This returns nothing `bp_get_group_id()`

Any experts or specialists or experienced BuddyPress types out there that know how to capture the `$group_id` so I can use it in the following?

`groups_is_user_mod( $user_id, $group_id )`

Is it even possible?
