Is it possible to enable keyboard navigation (for ex “accesskey”) for NavBar navigation?

I started a post @ http://buddypress.org/community/groups/requests-feedback/forum/topic/navbar-dropdown-menu-is-it-possible-to-configure-this-to-be-50-above-50-below about difficulties with navigating the NavBar with a mouse — and now it just occurred to me how simple, quick + easy it could be to enable keyboard navigation — has anyone ever considered doing this?
