Problems with new member registration.
-
I am using the latest versions of both WordPress and BuddyPress.
Site: http://www.tafaforum.com/
This site is for members of an art organization. We are testing the registration button and two members were able to set up easily with no problems while two others show up on the back end of the site as members but not on the member page. They are also not able to access the forums.
I installed the Wanguard Plug-in and am wondering if that is conflicting with BuddyPress, but why would two people get in and the others not?
I would rather send an email to all of the members who will use the site with a password and get rid of the front end registration altogether. I found some plugins that do that but they are for paid memberships and we won’t be using any payments on this site. I find the site very slow to load and read that one of the reasons could be plugins that are heavy in tasks, so I don’t want to add anything that will slow it down even more.
I’m also getting duplicate registration emails. Would that also be because of Wanguard?
I am not comfortable with changing code nor do I want to do anything that disappears every time there is an update. Any suggestions?
