    I just did the BuddyPress update and now I’m locked out of the back end of my website 🙁 I’m just getting this message – home/****/***/****/****/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-core/admin/bp-core-functions.php

    PLEASE HELP!

    I just updated the newest version of BuddyPress.

    I just updated the newest version of BuddyPress.

    @plussizebirth

    – Do you mean the stable BP 1.6.4 or BP 1.7 beta 1?
    – Where
    – How did you update BP, via FTP or dashboard plugin update link?
    – Is that the complete error or did you miss some lines before or after that
    – Rename the BuddyPress plugin folder in server to e.g.wp-content/plugins-buddypressproblem in order to access your dashboard

    Thanks so much Mercime for your response.

    I had just updated to BP 1.6.4 and everything was fine. Then I saw a yellow bar at the top of my page saying I needed to do another update. I went through that process and then all of a sudden started getting this error. Here it is again directly copied. The rest of the page is blank and this is all I can see –

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_theme() in /home/*****/****/****/***/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-core/admin/bp-core-functions.php on line 242

    I’m not very advanced with this stuff and was just starting to get excited about having BuddyPress on my site. Now I’m so discouraged and worried about even getting access to my backend again.

    Have you followed that last step Mercime suggests? Renaming the plugin folder will allow you to access the backend again.

    With error messages like that don’t paste the full path it’s not necessary and exposes your server directory structure –  I’ll edit those paths for you.

    Hello, I’m helping out @plussizebirth with the technical side so I’ll get on that folder name change ASAP. Thanks.

    You’ve got the full error there. Thanks @hnla for editing the path.

    @mercime
    , I’ll let you know the version once I’m back in.

    @joeburnham

    It was 1.6.4 and updated within WordPress, not FTP.

    @joeburnham have you tried re-uploading via FTP? Could be that something tripped the auto-installer.
