Call to undefined function bp_has_groups()

Good day,

I have set up a new installation of
buddypress 1.7
wordpress 3.51
theme onecommunity 1.03
bbpress 2.31
no groups setup – don’t need any (enable group forums unchecked)
sitewide forum setup
homepage = Home and set to frontpage1

and keep getting this error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function bp_has_groups() in /home/flpsblog/www/voice/wp-content/themes/OneCommunity/frontpage1.php on line 40

appreciate any assistance or push in the right direction.

meant to add that I don’t get the error if I leave the Home page template on Default, but it also does not then show the homepage, just directly displays the forum.

Just read there error itself. If your not using groups and this theme is calling that function then just comment out the call.
Example:
<?php /*bp_has_groups()*/ ?>

thank you.
guess I was over-thinking it since the theme is a buddypress specific theme I wasn’t expecting the two not to make nice.

Presuming http://themeforest.net/item/onecommunity-buddypress-theme/3713046 is your theme, have you tried upgrading it to the latest version – v1.1.9 ?

If that isn’t the problem and as this is a premium theme I suggest you ask on http://themeforest.net/item/onecommunity-buddypress-theme/discussion/3713046 or http://support.diaboliquedesign.com/ ?

did update – same result.
tried commenting out – same result
trying their forum now.

That check for has groups can and perhaps ought to be wrapped in :

if( bp_is_active(‘groups’) ) {

}
