But this is not what I mean. Basically, @bphelp is mentioning you. However, if your username is not “bphelp”, but a non-english name, how could I @non-english ? BP seems doesn’t support it for now.
@jianzhi There are BuddyPress websites in Arabic and Chinese among others, with @ mentions working in their sites.

More info for you regarding our site,
1. We are based on WP 3.5.2 Chinese version and enabled multi-sites
2. It is working well when we put any Chinese activity, forum posts, groups, members. For now, we only found @ mention doesn’t work for Chinese username.
