If this is urgent you perhaps ought to consider approaching a developer to investigate the issue, it’s a custom theme/site so is going to be hard for us here to help to any great degree.
To try and narrow down the problem, you should start by disabling any plugins not required for normal BP operation – I noticed a rather obvious error message being displayed on the site, that plugin should have been disabled immediately until the reason tracked down but worth now deactivating along with any caching plugins you may be using.
To be honest whomever setup/developed your site will have a better idea of what’s happening here, I assume you have some custom function managing the default no avatar image display that may have some bearing on the issue.
I’m the one who created the site.
I’ve been using that default picture for weeks and never had any problem before.
I only have 1 custom function which is to list alphabetically from last name instead of first name.
The plugin which shows an error message has been updated, however, what is odd is that this plugin has also been on the site ever since it’s creation and no modification towards it had been done so I don’t understand why it is happening now and why on newly registered only.
I tried disabling it to see if problem is fixed but it’s not.
@caspergrimaldi
Please give more complete info on your install. You mentioning “The plugin” is a guessing game and most of us can only spare a little time here and there and we don’t have time to ask every user to provide the details they should have provided when they first opened their thread. Most of the threads you see that no one has answered yet is largely because of this. https://buddypress.org/support/topic/when-asking-for-support-2/
As @hnla has advised you may want to consider hiring a developer. They usually have more advanced knowledge of the things that can be problematic to most novices.
Well if you want to talk to me like I’m a dummy person, then I’ll do just the same :
“The plugin”‘s name is mentioned in the error message. Maybe you should learn to read too.
To be honest I’d rather live with the problem than having to read support messages such as yours @bp-help
@caspergrimaldi
Nobody is calling you a dummy! Also bare in mind that is the responsibility for the person posting the topic to provide details on their install on support requests. Volunteers should not have to launch an investigation because you failed to provide such info. If you didn’t provide the info and then you give bad attitude when asked for it then it is likely you will not get the help you need.
@caspergrimaldi
JFYI I didn’t insult you. I am still willing to help if I can so please provide the info. Also you said you have a custom function. Can you provide it so myself and the other volunteers can help you out. For future reference don’t assume your being attacked when a volunteer asks for info okay? If you disabled this plugin that was causing you grief and its still giving you problems then we need to track it down.
I am only trying to help you!
