BuddyPress.org

I’m looking to make Buddypress content private. I’ve tired a range of plugins, but they seem to make the entire WordPress site private, or only offer options to exclude certain pages. I’m looking for a way to make everything on the site public, except for Buddypress community content. Can someone advise? Apologies if this is a duplicate – I’ve been searching through plenty of discussions but nothing has worked – all have made everything private like I mentioned.
