Remove RSS tab from groups

How can I remove the RSS tab from a Group page? I’d prefer to use a function than CSS. So far I’ve either commented out the activity tabs I don’t want (added to child theme), or used a function when I couldn’t remove them from a single member profile page.
Tried a few suggestions on this forum but none of them seem to work. Surely there must be a clean way to remove unwanted tabs (from activity, members, and groups)? If not, something added to the BP core would be very helpful. This query is raised frequently.
