[Solved]Using Mingle Forums with BuddyPress

I’ve seen a few other topics relating to this. However, I have some further questions….
I installed Mingle Forums and got it set up, but I can’t find it on my actual site. I know I have to edit the header.php in my child theme, but I’m not exactly sure where to find the forum url, or where to put it in the ‘header’ file.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry, I suspect only a few handful would consider using Mingle forums when bbPress is already bundled in BuddyPress. I can only suspect that URI to Mingle Forums would be “yoursite.com/forums” which conflicts with default slug and therefore URI of our bundled forums.

You could change BP forums slug to something else so your Mingle Forums URI will hopefully work, like adding the following to your wp-config.php:

`define ( ‘BP_FORUMS_SLUG’, ‘somethingelseexceptforums’ );`

If that doesn’t work, I suggest you contact the plugin dev of Mingle Forums for assistance.

Alright, thank you very much! If it doesn’t work, I suppose I’ll just use bbPress.

Actually, I do have one last question: would phpBB be a relatively simpe option for creating a forum?

phpBB would be a different beast altogether because unlike Mingle Forums which is a WP plugin and shares userbase, you have to use a plugin which is not updated regularly to bridge WP and phpBB. If you’re using BuddyPress, better and much easier to use bundled bbPress forums.
