Registration/Create an account page,
-
I hope somebody can help a relative newbie please. Cannot find similar problem on forums so far.
WP – 4.2.2
Buddypress – 2.2.3.1
bbPress – 2.5.7
Theme – Sequential
Wamp server 2.4
No other plugins activated.Set up going relatively well but registration page a problem. Clicking on ‘Register’ on site, when I am logged out, brings up ‘Create an Account’ but ’email address’ field required is already populated with my user name ‘bibblehead’ and ‘Password’ field already populated with password in usual dots! In other words the account page fields are not clean. I’ve tried everything I can think of to clear the fields for new registration but nothing works. I can however add new test users from back end no problem.
Also – Buddypress sidebar widget for login (again when I’m logged out – obviously) is again already populated with my User name and password and pressing login takes one straight into the dashboard back end etc. Not exactly what I was hoping for with new users wanting to register!!
I have reinstalled WP on Wamp and reinstalled Buddypress and bbpress but problem still occurs.
I’ve obviously done something fundamentally wrong but have not touched css at all.
Could it be compatability problem with latest versions of WP/Buddypress?
Groups and Forums are working basically OK – obviously need extra work but without a registration page that functions properly I’m going nowhere fast.
Object of site is community blog with some fixed pages, but mainly ability to form groups and have extensive cross interaction. Therefore registration fundamental to whole site.
Would not take long to start again completely with fresh theme that is tried and tested – Sequential relatively new – has anyone suggestions for good free WP theme that works seamlessly with Buddy and bbpress?. Twelve, thirteen and fourteen beginning to look a bit old hat now – any other ideas? Changing theme would be a pity as I like the way Sequential operates but if need be I will have to. Incidentally I changed theme to Twelve as test and same registration problem occurred.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
