Turn Dropbox to Checkbox On Activity

This has been asked before sometime ago here (5 years to be exact) https://buddypress.org/support/topic/change-filter-selection-box-for-activity-stream/ and so I’m following up on it since no one come back with any suggestions on it.

I wish to turn the dropbox on the activity feed to checkboxes instead.
