Underlying conflicts with BP + BB (Buddypress breaks yet again)

    Hi,

can anyone help me … what exactly are the underlying conflicts with BP + BB, or more to the point the css philosophy, that cause Buddypress to break or not function with other themes yet again.

Yup, I’ve just tried the latest upgrade and it breaks my network again (blank page without any content, disappeared blogs and members … we have been through all this before).

What I am trying to do is under the css philosophy behind this and see if it is possible to address it.

It seems to be that BP and/or BB is very aggressive with its use of its own css and designed to use it, which creates problems even with other mature themes. And, of course, require bug fixing and back engineering to work it out.

I don’t have the brains to do so on my own, can anyone give me some pointers. No, it is not simple stuff like htaccess or php.ini; no, it is not the theme designers’ faults.

I think is something in the way BP works and it seems like it is being written to work with its theme which breaks it with other themes.

Sorry to whine but, I guess like many of you, I am a one man band and I really cannot afford the drain on my resources it causes.
