Can people see everyone who is logged into BuddyPress?

Hi all,

BuddyPress version: I just downloaded the zip and have yet to install it. Version 2.9.2
WordPress version: 4.9.1
Website: http://www.avaiya.com

I’m about to install BuddyPress on my site and use it in our membership site. My IT guy mentioned that there’s a feature in BuddyPress that allows members who are logged in, to see how many other members are logged in.

Is there a way to turn this feature off? Such that if when we launch our membership, and let’s say we only have a few members in the beginning, they cannot see that there are only 2 members logged into the site?

I think you’re talking about the Who’s Online widget… just don’t add that widget to your sidebar.

Hey Peter, thanks for your help. Another question.

I notice in using BuddyPress, a page gets created that shows all the Members of our site.

Members

Not just our membership members, but our wordpress members as well.

Is there any problem if I just delete this page so no one can see it?

@avaiya You can simply lock it down using your membership plugin for logged in users. Members page is mandatory, it should not be deleted.
