I’m creating a site for a wedding company. They do weddings all over the world and have local stylists represent the company at the various locations. I’d like to use buddypress for the all the stylists to collaborate and post events and photos. So it would be more of a closed circuit community, not just anyone could join, the site admin would create the new user (stylist.domain.com). Questions: 1. How customizable is the users page? I’d like to make it look nice like it is their personal website. 2. The picture portfolio is very essential. I’d like there to be a photo gallery that a customer could filter down to location, type of wedding, or stylist. Also when a person clicks to view a stylists profile they have their own mini gallery with just their work. Is there is a gallery feature or plugin that handle something like that?

1. You have to clarify what you mean by user’s page. You could allow each user to personalize their member profiles in some way via plugin http://buddydev.com/buddypress/allow-your-users-to-change-their-profile-page-background-using-bp-custom-background-for-user-profile-plugin/
If you meant by showing a new subdomain, that you would be giving them their own blogs in your installation, then allow them to choose which theme they want for their blog/site.

2. Pictures portfolio/gallery. Two choices available at this time:
– free BP Album aka BP Media plugin – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-album/ and http://code.google.com/p/buddypress-media/
– premium BP Gallery plugin – http://buddydev.com/plugins/bp-gallery/

1. The user/stylist doesn’t necessarily need a sub domain. I would just need the functionality for them to have their own gallery/portfolio and to be able to post jobs they have done. Similar to this template http://livedemo00.template-help.com/wordpress_37199/gallery/#!prettyPhoto. The jobs they post would then get submitted the main pool and display on the main site.

2. Do you do development, or could you point me to a developer that could assist on this project and get the portfolio/galleries setup correctly?
