How to remove the RSS feed link in the header

As i’m sure this has been asked before i tried searching for it, but the search function of this website seems to be broken as it only ever shows this page showing the latest BP news whenever i search for anything: http://buddypress.org/?s
I’ve tried many tips around the web for how to disable or remove the RSS function from both BP and WP, including the most up-to-date RSS-disabling plugin, and none of them made difference whatsoever. The RSS feed link near the top of the header of the source-code is still there and all RSS feed links still work.
I really need to get rid of the one in the header specifically since search-engines use it to find and index tons of content that is meant only for registered members to see.
Please advice!
