Creating forms for bp users to fill out!

I am wanted to be able to create a form for my users to be able to fill out then that form create a post like output that all will be able to read. I would also like that post to be listed in the user-profile. That post will be placed into categories such as by country then state, and so forth which would be searchable. Is this possible to do through buddypress. I was able to achieve this through drupal but social integration within drupal is not great therefore I wanted to try out buddypress.

Currently running wp 3.3.2, bp 1.5.5, on a hostgator cpanel account which is based on linux.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated!

@bryceburk Actually, if you don’t need social networking, you can do this in WordPress alone. You can use custom post types or categories for countries and states and those are searchable. Users can add posts or custom post types from wp-admin or from front end via

If you want to use BuddyPress – there’s http://buddydev.com/plugins/bp-simple-front-end-post/ where you can created different forms which you can configure to contain what you need. Needs PHP and HTML/CSS skillsets for this though.

There’s also the premium Gravity Forms plugin which can work for both WP and BP.
