Problem accessing buddypress admin after upgrade to 1.61

Hi, After upgrading the buddypress plugin to 1.6.1 I get the folowing when I try and access the admin settings. ‘You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.’

I am the admin of this site so cant understand why this is happening, any ideas as to how to solve it please?

@mudgey click on the wp-admin menu dashboard, then click on the Update Wizard link in the message box
