Not able to comment on activity streams

I am unable to post an update on the activity stream page, and I am unable to comment on members posts on the activity stream page but i can share updates on my personal profile feed and comment on others posts if i am on their profile feed but not able to engage on the activity streams as a community. the post buttons are there and let me type comments but when i click post nothing happens. on the update bar at the top i can type an update but there isnt a button at all to share it to the feed. anyone else having these problems? I also just updated my plugin to the latest version. 14.4.0

- What was the previous version of BuddyPress before you upgraded to 14.4.0?
- What does the error log reveal?
- What steps have you taken to troubleshoot this situation?
