SEO on BP – page titles
-
Hi all,
SEO is an important component of any site, to allow google / any search engine to index a page correctly.
The starting point top down is the page titles.
I see BP uses the same page titles for all top level pages.
E.g. http://testbp.org/members is the same as http://testbp.org/
Also the forum for groups potentially could have thousands of pages with the same page title e.g. http://testbp.org/groups/buddypress-testers-614548248/forum/topic/175 is the same as http://testbp.org/groups/buddypress-testers-614548248
The same problem with duplicate page titles also exists on the default BP blog.
E.g. http://testbp.org/news/beta-release-scheduled-for-december-15/
Simply adding the article title would be sufficient.
I posted a msg on a ticket then eventually re-opened it here : http://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/126
Just wondered if these SEO enhancements are on anyone’s radar. I don’t feel particularly comfortable submitting enhancements on someone else’s bug tracker.
