Twitter Plugin

    Has anyone successfully created and implemented a plugin to enable Twitter cross-posting and with access to the Twitter settings within the Buddypress profile area yet?

    I’m aware of Twire and several attempts at the plugin I’ve described above but it’s not clear to me where these projects are at right now.

    You can use Twitter Tools to creat tweets of your new blog post, and it also allows you to tweet from wordpress.

    What exactly do you want to be tweeted (tweet? tweeted?)?

    Twitter Tools works fine in WP and WPMU for that matter, but users must add their Twitter settings on the WPMU backend. The whole idea of Buddypress is to have users manage their profiles from the Buddypress settings area. So the need is a plugin that enables you to change Twitter settings from the Buddypress profile area which enables your blog posts to reach your Twitter account.

    I’m aware of Twitme but that project has been underway for a while and to my knowledge has not been completed. Thanks for the pointer, however!
