Hos to use predefined register fields – /register?new=XXX

First, I need to say that I’m not sure if this is a wpmu-function or if this came along with Buddypress.
When I visit hxxp://mybuddypressite.com/register?new=xxx or a sub-blog witch doesn’t exist i will be redirectet to the registerpage where I can register that blog witch doesn’t exist.
What happens is that the username-input in the registration is allready filled out with the three “xxx” i have in the url above.
I would like something giving me the ability to filll out more than just the username in that url. That would be something like “/register?username=XXX&email=XXX@XXX.com.”
Maybe anyone of you can give me some helping hints?
