Filtering content for swear words, which filters to use?

I’m creating my first WP plugin, which will filter out swear words from BuddyPress created content; wire posts, etc. I need my plugin to intercept the content before it’s saved to the database, replace the bad words, and then add the filtered content to the db.
Which filters should I be looking out for?
