Stop making multiple posts.
I have also had this problem, on http://persephonemagazine.com/register. No fix yet, but we are trying to track it down.
@BuiltbyKids @Roenok deactivate BuddyPress and BP plugins. How’s registration on bare WP install?
@mercime Registration works normally in WordPress, as well as on a clean staging site with all the same plugins.
Sorry about the multiple post – I posted and I didn’t see my post go live, just the title and then I couldn’t erase.
I’ve deactivated almost all of my plugins including BP and registering via WP is totally fine. I re-activated BP and still have the same issue of it not taking me to a “completed” page once I hit submit to register.
Anyone???
What plugins ARE you running?
Cookies for Comments, for example, can do this if your cookie is set wrong.
In our case, it turned out to be a permalinks issue. The registration form would be submitted, but not directed to the right script. Make sure your .htaccess file is writeable, the resave your Permalink settings.
Thanks for the suggestions. I’m still at a loss.
The only plugins I have activated are:
login logo
BuddyPress
BuddyPress Template Pack
I also have htaccess set to 744.
But still their is no redirect when registering.

Any other ideas?
Thanks
Ok – I think I got it. I had to change the permissions in both htaccess from the root directory and in the wordpress directory. Seems to be good now.
hey just FYI, this solved my problem and is horribly obvious lol – goto settings -> general -> enable “anyone can register”
@BuiltbyKids your problem solved? if, then how solve ?
I have been having this exact same problem sporadically. I have searched a ton of forums and have seen many people with the same issue, starting as far back as BPv1.2 and WPv2.9. So far, I have yet to find anyone who has posted a solution to this problem.
Here is what seemed to have caused / resolved my problem:
In the general settings of my WordPress install, I listed the url of my site as http://mydomain.com, but when I linked to the register page I linked to http://www.mydomain.com/register/. Registering with this link produced the page refresh / clearing of passwords error. Removing the www from the address fixed the issue.
Hope this helps someone.
Godspeed,
Omar
