[Resolved] Using BP with other Themes

New to BP and have installed the full version. Once I activated it it replaced the theme I was using. How can I incorporate BP into a theme I’m already using?
    Thanks.

To make your WP theme compatible with BuddyPress, you need to install/activate the BP Template Pack plugin, then go through Appearance > BP compatibility process.

Thanks for the reply. Should I delete the main BuddyPress plugin first or do they work together?

BP Template Pack plugin requires BuddyPress plugin to be activated in your WP site. It won’t work otherwise.

So, following the steps of the BP Compatibility process is, well, really technical. It looks like I have to modify a ton of PHP pages. This is sad. Is there a simple instructional guide for the BP Compatibility guide? Or does anyone know anything good about Thesis Theme 2.0?

@grantnieddu I would suggest checking with Thesis theme forums re BP compatibility. I recall mention of a plugin ala BP template pack for Thesis or the BP compatibility files available. I imagine that many Thesis theme users would have brought that up in their forums.

Thanks for your comments mercime and grantnieddu. It worked and I have progressed to the point where I need to make said changes to the PHP pages. Now I’m scared. But, oh well, this day could’ve been worse.

[EDIT – no politics here please. ~~ Mercime]
