I want to have either the activate or forum directory as my home page, but I would like to have a slider on top of the page to show what my site is about. The slider I am going to use is the slider by aesthetic.
I am using a child theme of the bp default theme.
Any help would be great if you could tell me how I can do this,

@b1gft If that slider by aesthetic can be added via widget area – check out http://justintadlock.com/archives/2010/11/08/sidebars-in-wordpress

mercime, thanks for link but it looks to me as if there only sidebars. All I need to do is put [featslider] on a page, for example Home Page, and the slider shows up. Needless to say I tried it on the Forum page, but it did not show up.
Could I put that or some code into the file that the forum page is in, so when the forum page is loaded it will also load the slider.
