Assign forum to post instead of group or create checkbox menu for comments

  • Hi,

I would like people to be able to respond to specific content in posts, which will have a standard layout. For example, lets say this is about buildings and every post for a building has the same sections (history, engineering, form, etc). At the bottom of a given post, I want users to be able to comment or start a discussion forum on a specific element about the building in the post. Is it possible to customize buddypress to do this? If so, any thoughts on how? Can I assign forums to posts instead of groups? Alternatively, is there a plugin to add a list of items with checkboxes or a drop down menu so when someone makes a comment they indicate what they are commenting on?

    Thanks!

Enable commenting from dashboard menu Settings > Discussions.

Why? There’s already commenting in posts with threaded comments – if your theme is set up for this.

    haha! 😆

Great, thanks! This will work, 1 other thing, is there a way to add a “title” to the comments. I want to a comment clearly indicate what data field their are talking about, like a header. Is it possible to create a picker from a list? There will be too many fields for a drop down menu. I’m also guessing this is custom work, but I want to know if it is even possible.
