Users are not using forums as they are not aware that they have to join groups first. I tried educating them but its too much work.
1. Is there any script I can use to make all users part of all groups?
2. Can we have a default during sign up that all users are automatically part of all groups but they can leave if they want.
I have restricted group creation so there are max 4-6 groups.

You could use “BuddyPress Auto Group Join” plugin to force members to join an existing groups when they signup.

“BuddyPress Auto Group Join” only kind of works. It requires that you have multi-site enabled for it to work.

Welcome Pack should allow you to automatically join users to groups the site admin defines when their account is activated.

Besides, if you attempt to post to a forum topic that you’re not a member of, you will automatically join that group when you reply to that forum thread.

I have updated the BuddyPress Auto Group Join plugin to work with WordPress 3.0. I haven’t looked at r-a-y’s Welcome Pack, but I’m sure it does a wonderful job too!
