My client said they tried to disable the BuddyPress Components to try and remove the links from the homepage, but when they did, the site wouldn’t load and now we cannot even get into wp-admin. I tried to delete the buddypress plugin through FTP to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions?

It’s because you’re probably using some other BuddyPress plugins that have not made their plugins BP-aware, you have to disable those as well when disabling BuddyPress.

If you can’t get into wp-admin, rename wp-content/plugins/ folder on your server then try to access wp-admin. This will deactivate all the plugins.

This also happened to me – I turned off the groups options in Component Setup and now I can’t access any part of my site. If I am able to get into wp-admin, then what??
