can no longer activate buddypress theme after wp upgrade

Just upgraded to WP 3.0.5 on a multisite, and though my BuddyPress default 1.2.7 theme still shows on my secondary BP blog, the Manage Themes window shows Twenty Ten 1.1 (the main blog theme) as the current theme for the secondary blog, and I can’t successfully activate the BP theme even though the Activate link is, um, active. This wasn’t so prior to the upgrade. The problem I run into is that the Widgets window is not customized to the BP theme, and any widgets I drag into the sidebar area are added, but not maintained if new widgets are added.

Ideas on how to sync the WP Appearance menus to the actual current BP theme?

If you upgraded to WP 3.0.5 via dashboard auto upgrade, do a manual update via FTP or cPanel

Also re widgets, WP Dev Andrew Nacin posted about that here http://wpdevel.wordpress.com/2011/02/10/if-your-menus-or-widgets-screens-broke/

Thanks. I wasn’t able to do auto upgrade, so in fact did it manually. Again, my problem seems to be that the BuddyPress theme can no longer be “activated,” even though it *is* the active theme; this affects the entire widgets interface, which seems to function fine (vs. the link you posted) but it refers to the wrong theme! Further ideas welcome.

If you are using a custom BP theme, change to bp-default theme.

Yes, I’m attempting to use the BuddyPress default theme…see original post.
