How to make Group(s) sticky?

  • @aljuk

I need a couple of Groups to be sticky at the top of the Groups Directory.

I thought this would be pretty simple, but I’m lucking out.

    Any ideas?

A workaround is you could create your own groups loop and place it before the group directory loop in the group directory template:
    https://codex.buddypress.org/developer-docs/custom-buddypress-loops/the-groups-loop/

If you know you’re not going to have to change these groups, you could just hardcode the group info with HTML directly into the template.
This saves having to create another group loop.

I soooo want this. I dont know enough about coding to pull out the right code – but if anyone knows of a plugin – please share – I know many people would be interested in this.

It is very strange that nobody came with sticky Groups till now , I wanted to put that question too.

r-a-y posted the best response to this. I think a plugin would over complicate the site. You can use the loop or just call your groups specifically.
I’m burried with side projects right now but I’ll add this to the list of “quick-tuts” I plan on doing..

@dennismolek – thank you – that would be very useful and appreciated and should be a sticky in itself.
