We are running BuddyPress 1.2.5.2 on WordPress 3.0.1 on a virtual server. The site was originally installed on WordPressMU but we never had blogs turned on for our users. When we upgraded, I was hoping we could somehow dial back to WordPress alone since we aren’t using the blogs function but can’t figure out how. I’ve been able to find instructions for turning multisite ON but not OFF. And I’d like to turn it off because I’d like to use the BuddyPress Restrict Email Domains Plugin.

Don’t think it’s a reversible condition, but this is a WP issue and perhaps would be better addressed to the WP forums.

You can convert a WPMU install with only one site to single WP, it’s not hard to do and there are tutorials online on how to go about it. But none take BuddyPress into consideration and you’re on WP 3.0.1, so all bets are off. I would suggest experimenting on test install first and see how that works out, taking into consideration avatar and media upload paths. Main work would be on database. In the meantime, I assume that in your dashboard > Super Admin > Options > only user registration is allowed.
