Puzzling. Thought maybe user roles had be restructured or something at first, then I realized I couldn’t access any of the buddypress options since I only had Admin access. Can I change this somewhere in MySql?

Did you have a working single WP with BP activated before you went multisite or did you create a network (multisite) before installing BP? If you created the site even in single WP you should have access to all BP options. Check wp_users table in DB

You are in the Network Admin screens, right?
