Notification Problem

I get friendship notification. Not as usual, notifications still appear even though it has clicked. I’ve tried to deactivate all plugins that might be the cause, but notification still appears. Did anyone know, how to remove it?

    Thank’s in advance … :)

I am using BP 1.2.2.1 and WPMU 2.9.2

This happened to me as well and I tried to replicate it. I think it might have been if you add somebody then cancel then add again

Don’t think so. I sent a friend request and now the notification that says he has accepted will not go away.

In my case, what Modemlooper said was true. Notifications that do not want to disappear it’s because of the cancellation of friendship. I’ve tried to add back. Still have to wait for the results until my request is received. :D

I wanted to cast my vote for this bug. Regardless of how we got here, it seems pretty clear that there are ‘friendship request accepted’ notifications that are not going away. Should this be filed as an open issue at trac.buddypress.org?

Just to chime in: I’m having the same problem. Anybody find a temporary fix (some sort of notification reset or something)?

My “zombie notification” lasted for about 3-4 days and then finally disappeared… I think it was finally pushed out by a new notification.

It happened to me as well – same scenario as modemlooper has been described. I could get rid of the notification by clicking on the “friends” tab in the user menu.

That bug fix 2191 did not work for me- I still have to go to the Friends tab on my member profile to make the notification go away- I would have liked for it to go away as soon as it was acknowledged (clicked on)

I’m noticing this behavior as well – even though it was ‘fixed’ in April … https://trac.buddypress.org/changeset/2921

Don’t know if that fix was included in the latest release?

I am plagued by the same issue. I’ve made all of Andy and Ray’s revisions to the bp-friends.php file. Nothing different. I wonder if this issue may be resolved by either tweaking the w3 total cache settings or looking for a plug-in conflict.

Brajesh noted in http://buddydev.com/forums/topic/notification-wont-go-away that a bug exists. Visit the link to find a temporary means of dealing with the issue that disables the “member accepted your friendship request” notification. However, the requesting member still receives an email notification that the request has been accepted. Works for me!
