Could very well be that your theme has not been updated. Have you changed to bp-default theme to see if issue is corrected?
@rgblog,
I am running WP 3.4.2, BP 1.6 and I am able to both join and leave a group (thus, the buttons are visible and perform as designed).
Thanks for a quick reply!
Yes, my theme is actually BP-Default & my own child theme.
The child theme has custom CSS (only changed the color scheme but the same layout) and a couple minor custom templates for pages.
Anyone knows which template file is for the Groups Directory page??
Thank you so much!!!
OK, I’ve just tested BP 1.6.1 on WP 3.4.2 (BP Default theme) in my dev site.
Yes, the same issue is still persistent!
Also, I found an interesting post and I wonder if AJAX change is related with this issue…
AJAX changes in BuddyPress 1.6
@rgblog,
This is the extent of my understanding: groups/index.php is the file you’re asking for. In it, the groups-loop.php template is referenced. It’s that template that generates those “join” and “leave” buttons; specifically, the following action “bp_directory_groups_actions”. If I’ve mislead, someone jump in and correct me.
@Quint
Thank you again!
I’m going to check that template file to see anything wrong!
I’ve never had an option to join/leave groups in the group directory on any theme. Only when you click through to a group page can you join.
Is there a plugin for this, I can’t find anything or am i misunderstanding this thread?
@fpats Only plugin needed is BuddyPress. Join group button should be at Groups Directory page as well as in single group’s page. All’s well with BP Default theme. What theme are you using? Could be that you need to upgrade your theme or JS was not enqueued or something else.
thanks @mercime i’ve dropped the theme designer a message.
it’s the onecommunity theme, a new one on themeforest.
