Is there some kind of setting that I may be over looking or some kind of plugin that would require a user to login through the wp-admin login screen?

Default login URL http://yourwordpress.com/wp-login.php or http://yourwordpress.com/wp-admin/
so unless you placed a redirect script to log in at front end, those are the links.

I understand that much, but I was wondering if you can make it where you wouldn’t be able to login through buddy press completely….

err… I could probably edit the theme template *facepalm*
