    Am I correct in saying that I could run the multiple buddypress sites without your plugin, but it would post all activity across all the sites for every user?

    No.

    By default there’s one buddypress for the entire network or is you have multiple networks, it;s the same thing everywhere.

    What the plugin above helps you do is have a second (or even third) network and be able to activate buddypress again on that network with new users and different activity.

    You’ll need to be running the development version (trunk) of BuddyPress for it to work, or wait for a beta.
