Does BP offer “User Customized Color Scheme” like vbulletin?

I want to use BP, and when a user registers that they can pick from a group of color templates or color and picture templates that will allow them to see that particular scheme each time they log on.

This is NOT the WP theme, but the background color of the entire site (where it is white here and most other WP sites).

vBulletin does this and this is how they define this:

    – Create a Matching Themes across Articles, Blogs, Forum – Ability to create multiple styles which can be applied to different forums and users.

This is possible, but it would have to be a custom-coded plugin as such a plugin doesn’t currently exist. Shouldn’t be too hard with a little usermeta and a settings page.

If you’re talking about custom colors for other elements apart from the body’s background-color, then I can foresee problems as each BuddyPress (child) theme could be customized to oblivion! :)

I would do it as a settings component plugin if you want users to choose colors. Check out the groups css plugin to see how that was done if you want users to be able to add their own colors. Like Ray says, if you let users roll their own CSS then you will have the nightmare that was myspace. If it’s just pre made CSS files it’s easy to have a switch based on xprofile field. Search here it’s been asked before.
