Can we have self-hosted media?

I was quite upset to find that all of the plugins that support video, image, and audio all require external hosting which costs $$$.
I don’t want to buy more server space, there’s a reason I already bought hosting and I have plenty of bandwidth in my package to deal with such a volume.

Will we soon see a self-hosted media plugin?

Simple question, but much problems ?!?
I noticed, that i can´t play my own videos from subblogs like oembed or with embeded code :(.
I can see and play videos like regular post on mainblog, but i don´t see videos in streamactivity – only blank entry. Also shortcodes from any videoplayers doesn´t work in streamactivity (what new ….?) editor.
Audiolinks.mp3 from own server are working fine with µaudio (or other plugin) .
Videolinks.mp4 are working only with oembed for BP plugin (youtube, vimeo, soundcloud, etc), but they doesn´t work for own domain.like oembeded or embeded.

Did you look around at any of the plugins?

    For example: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-album/home/
    or this paid option: http://buddydev.com/buddypress/introducing-the-first-stable-version-of-bp-gallery-for-buddypress/

No need to get upset. Just maybe search a bit more.

Thank you for your reply. I have found a solution now, with html5 mediajs plugin. Look at my site ( http://www.14all-all41.net/activity/ ) – some examples with hosted files and with selfhosted mediafiles. I still can´t embed embeded media over “wall editor” (post update) in streamactivity – only with custom fields or post in backend.
