, Brajesh from http://www.buddydev.com has promised to create one these days , as far as I know it is not ready yet , take a look on his site sometimes to know the progress of it .(maybe you should be a member to see it )Maybe because we don’t have WP multisite installation , and this plugin requires that , but you are right , I forgot that this plugin should do the work .
@simon_sais I understand now our misunderstanding , I forgot that if you are not a subscriber you can’t see it:
http://buddydev.com/forums/topic/plugin-for-frontend-posting#post-9118@pcwriter thank you very much for your exact explanation , it is exactly how you ve’said ,

when You are in the title speaking about > Adding Posts to a BuddyPress Group
AND in content:
“Over the last few months I have had several clients requesting POST integration into the buddpress group structure. If anyone has BP experience customizing these aspects, your feedback would be GREATLY appreciated.”
AND in other place you say:
“Creating and editing posts on the front-end for members of a group, especially attempting to integrate the pop-up media manager can be very challenging.”AND I am responding you :
Take a look here because Brajesh is working now on http://buddydev.com/forums/topic/plugin-for-frontend-posting#post-9118 plugin because of adding this to his another very interesting plugin ..http://buddydev.com/plugins/blog-categories-for-groups/ plugin , which when finished will enable front-end creating posts for members of a group.Sorry that I didn’t read and respond your other questions which I am not expert at all . Maybe I really don’t understand what do you exactly want.
Take a look at http://www.buddydev.com , these days should be released Groups frontend post editor .
http://buddydev.com/forums/topic/plugin-for-frontend-posting#post-9118I don’t know if I have a permission to provide a little review about this plugin , but 1 thing I can say now this plugin is very very cool and I think that will be a very popular one , if you want to beta test it @gdeglin is a nice person trying to discuss your opinion , new features and all your advices.
I see , thank you very much for both of your answers , I have nothing against the payment to developers , they deserve their money , I paid and pay and will always pay them very gladly all the time.
This code & plugin would be very useful for me to start better and launch my website quicker and maybe start to earn something, but I don’t think I can allow to pay several hundred $ for something I would use only once and which needs to be upgraded to be useful in future again.
As the most of the people who uses GPL scripts for free I too prefer to find some most easy and less expensive way for extra features , I am also trying to find some solutions which are buying plugins for less money selling to mass of the people which costs let’s say $20 – $50 , are constantly upgraded , supported , and the price is divided in mass of people , that’s why we have all forums , blogs to ask , to suggest the new plugin , that’s why I have asked how difficult it would be for developers and how important it should be for others to create that code – script – plugin , now I know how much would it cost and if somebody else who find it important and useful as me would like to divide that costs with me to be in the limit of 100$ per person I don’t have nothing against of buying it .Some GROUPS import plugin would be great because the force of the buddypress and similar social network is mainly in Groups , groups represents local business as companies , sport clubs , company divisions , theaters , museums , schools (Groups =classes) . Members represents employees & athletes & students .
Many local activities , many associations has a list of those clubs & companies & schools in their CSV files , they would use it very nicely with buddypress , then they can use BP powerful forums for their employees , maps , reviews , docs , galleries .
I have a csv lists of bars , nightclubs from all over the world (200K) , with custom fields like :name
country
province
city
address
phone
email
basic club description
and one Group profile picture =logowhich serves for everybody – girls searching for jobs (I am using Docs for explanation info ) , clients searching for reviews , photo galleries , club owners searching for both – girls working there , clients coming there , many BP webmasters are using Groups for similar purposes , many people who doesn’t know buddypress yet and has those huge csv lists would be potentially a new BP users , especially because of that great feature (bulk Groups import plugin).
Nobody will want to create one group for 5 minutes , they would like to import basic xxx groups to set up basic database and to give an example to the new group admins creators =(club owners as admins) in my case , maybe they would also like to sync it with their excel database in future.
I understand that BP developers have a lot of work to do , so I don’t ask that kind of code or plugin urgently , but if it is not too difficult (only you know it if it is , because for me 3 lines of simple code seems to be very difficult ) , would be nice to have it for all of us = BP users , if it is a quite difficult take it pls only as e new plugin suggestion .very nice avatars , I am using facebook autoconnect premium , I am satisfied with that (except facebook fields support – location , age , language ) , I am also member of buddydev.com where I can use its facebook connect too, but avatars from there changes the size in sidebar and in profile and till now I didn’t have a time to play with css files to change it and to put it in live environment , I like Brajesh plugin more because of facebook fields = buddypress profiles fields sync , feature which autoconnect doesn’t have , do you support that too ? I am using facebook autoconnect a lot , so if you want I can try to test it out for you too . Using custom avatars like I have seen your examples would be great because many people doesn’t want to show their original facebook photos .
I had the same question 1 month ago here on BP and nobody responded , hope that somebody will respond you because I have a csv file with 20K nightclubs and I would like to create 20K groups where every club will have their forum , review , blog , gallery , wiki =docs . I would like to add there some groups profile custom fields where I should add custom fields to describe every club , but there’s no fully working plugin yet , Groups Extras from @slaffik seems to be left, Groups Frontpage has only a few fields.
Category would be nice , bump this.
justing bumping this , hope that somebody knows how to add simple map into the groups
Very nice and interesting idea , hope you will find a solution
Me too , I would like to have another “extra tab” next to the PROFILE tab in member profiles with content (Fashion Model statistics with picture of the model body silhouette with girl’s measures)
Activity | Profile | “Extra TAB” | Friends (0) | Groups (2) | Events (0) | Gallery (2)
I was trying to use codes above but I have no idea how to make it work
It is very strange that nobody came with sticky Groups till now , I wanted to put that question too.
I would use TDO mini forms , best for your purposes , works nice.
There’s a one plugin which will use blog categories to categorize group’s blogs , but unfortunately not groups itself , http://buddydev.com/plugins/blog-categories-for-groups/ , hope that I will find the same plugin as you are searching for .
Huge thanks @hnla , I have changed template to default and it is quick like a hell –
now , so it is only a little bit css customization to turn “default” to black design (UNPLUGGED served only for colours , nothing else , UNPLUGGED THEME WAS a PROBLEM , thanks a lot !!! next time I will avoid using child themes , I like default with some little customizationThanks a lot @hnla , it is very helpful , I will work on it now , I think that I will delete all UNPLUGGED theme and will add all css in my default theme ,( “unplugged theme ” runs on “default” theme so it wouldn’t be so difficult , I have deactivated 30 plugins now , so I feel that it is much more faster with 30 plugins , I have realized that my website on internet explorer 9 is at least 3 times faster than mozilla 4 which from the start when I have installed it was very quick and now has some memory problems (slowly increases and takes 1gb RAM) so it is very slow for all my websites (maybe I got a virus) and unfortunately internet connection here in Italy is very bad for me now (NOT ADSL) 7.2MB – so my testing is very limited . Thanks a lot for your help !
@hnla , @dataprise1 Thanks guys for your kindly respond , I have many plugins which are running once a month (data importers , category importers , group joiners , privacy plugins , many plugins not important for running the live website at all , but making my life easier when I want to import something , protect something etc , ) I was thinking that if those plugins are not in use at the moment , at that page , they don’t create bigger page load and I don’t need to deactivate them or delete them.
But I am laik , I have realized that I am possibly wrong because as @hnla recommended I have also installed HttpFox , it is showing me a lot of data , for sure some expert can see a problem , but to tell the truth I don’t understand this tool at all , I can’t understand which function-page is taking too much time, I see some facebook addresses – scripts delays (also 55sec.), really many gravatar callings , some google API scripts , Google Maps callings (even if that page doesn’t contain any Map on ) I am ready to give up all gravatars on my website , allowing only uploaded images , I have also deleted all gravatars=avatars from activity stream (in css display:hidden them – maybe there should be a problem ? I didn’t deleted the codes from templates , so it is calling css which returns display:hidden ), but :
Can I ask if anybody of you can take a look at my website ( http://www.4ella.com) to see it with Httpfox or similar tool if there’s something very unusual , uncommon , notable ? Like this I would like to encourage anybody who would like to use this website for test purposes before I will launch it and put in live environment.
Tonight I will try to deactivate all my plugins together , and will start to activate them one by one (before I made it on contrary , deactivating one by one , so there were always 59 other plugins running) , but when I make them running alone , how can I benchmark them ? HttpFox is showing me a lot of data , how much time for every page is a lot ? When controlling it with HttpFox I was trying to see difference between buddypress.org and my website and it was only showing me difference with some facebook pages (I am using premium facebook auto connect plugin ) . I was hoping that I will find here some tips from other users for some plugins which takes more time to load than other – for example:
I can easily live without BP – achievements plugin , but I can’t imagine to give up bigger plugins like Buddypress Docs , Buddypress Review , Gallery and also some other smaller plugins , I was hoping to find some tool which will tell me that Buddypress BP- Achievements plugin together with other one takes too long .
About the change shared hosting on Bluehost.com. Hosting change I want to be a last solution , because the website is not earning any money and I can’t allow any dedicated server yet (I will inform myself about VPS – somebody on this forum adviced this cheaper solution)
Any help would be very appreciate DanielI have the same problem , my website is toooooooooooooo slow too , in general I think that buddypress is slow because all sites running buddypress I have ever seen seems to me that are slower than any other script , but buddypress has many plugins and much more functionalities than others , slowness of my website is my biggest problem , as hnla adviced to deactivate all plugins one by another , I did it , but never mentioned some difference , I have 60 plugins running . Hope that I will resolve it somehow in future , opening every page for 5 seconds is not good at all , there must be some bad combination of 2 or more plugins , not only one – in my case I guess .
Sorry that I can’t help you, because I am not a coder at all , but this plugin seems to be very useful , I search for some plugin which can do following:
I have 2 main roles on my website: photographers and models , they will meet each role type in the groups , at this moment I want only 2 roles let them messaging – , I want to let models messaging between them and photographers between them, but I don’t want to allow messaging between photographers and models ( I want to force them to write on forums – so visible chat – not hidden ). Will this plugin be able to do this ? thanks Danielsuper , just downloaded httpFox and will examine how it works , where can I find those server logs ? my hosting cpanel ?
thanks for your respond
