Great idea @r-a-y , will try it tonight , I would like to use it for custom post type answers
Gravity forms has this very useful feature and I can’t imagine this plugin without conditional fields, I am using it a lot in every single form, try to take a look how this plugin works, maybe you will find some solution how to implement it.
I agree , Justin’s plugin wp-fb-autoconnect works perfect all the time.
Try to bump this topic too , Buddypress is much more in advance from those last posts so maybe new BP versions will allow it, is anybody here who use @justin_k Justin’s WP-FB autoconnect and who has the same problem as @ifanatics in the first post above ? I succesfully use premium WP-FB autoconnect too and have the same problem as him, users who register to my website via this plugin can see every page even when I have restricted that page to only one different role (I have created 2 new roles , “club” and “job_applicant”, both new roles works perfect when I want to show and hide the content to specific user but only facebook users can see everything
, (they can see everything even if I manualy assign them a different role in user profile edit page.
Other problem is what can I do to show facebook users in EDIT author drop down field in EDIT post page ? I can see there only wordpress – buddypress users , but not Facebook users despite of they are all everywhere even in members directory, from that reason I cannot assign them any blog post / CPT postThanks @mercime but this is not a problem what I have asked, I know how to activate future users (WP – approve users plugin I don’t need) but I don’t know how to activate WP already registered users who succesfully registered their account but never did any activity in buddypress part , that’s why I can’t see them in buddypress directory , I have about 990 members registered who never posted any post , who never made any buddypress activity , only registered via gravity forms plugin – register user addon or registered via register page , that’s why I can’t see them in members directory where I have only 400 members, i would like to see them there all, but I don’t want to activate them one by one , so I search for some solution how to (maybe with the help of some query change some value in MySql table to get them there all),
“Activate users in Buddypress” plugin shows me all 990 users as already activated , some of them without BP activity and some of them without LAST ACTIVITY, there’s nothing to do, no button to change anything , this plugin will not help me to show them in members directory , there must be a simple query which will do it in batch for all of them, practicaly MEMBERS DIRECTORY it shows me only members with LAST ACTIVITY record , so simple query which will change that LAST ACTIVITY record will certainly help.Thank you both for your links-codes, I will study everything tonight , @rogercoathup the code you’ve provided where do I have to add this filter ? In which file ? in function.php ? I have also seen @shanebp code in another thread which seems to be different (I am not an PHP expert at all), the same question here where should I add it and which code is better , safer ?
Anyone happen to know if does exists some MySql query how to activate all “not recently active” members at once? I would like to see them all in BP Members directory.
Hi , sorry I am not able to help you with your thumbnail problem but at least I will bump this thread for you and will ask you how did you get custom post type into activity page ? I have also created custom post type section (with the help of gravity forms form which generate a custom post type post which I see in standalone page) but I can’t get to see it in activity page too, can you post here the code to appear the content of custom post type in the activity page?
I understand , I wanted to create something similar , first add general fields for all groups (address and contact fields for example) , then to setup conditional field ( it should be a role field – you can create additional roles for wordpress ), I have nightclubs , agencies and girls working in nightclubs , so 3 new wp-buddypress roles , then within templates I can show content for specific groups , unfortunately on registration form I can use it yet because people are not logged in with their role yet , so it would be nice to have conditional field as gravity forms uses which will show you only set of fields by the role which you will confirm .
There is another thread where @brajesh from buddydev have succesfully resolved this multiple registration form , but I already don’t remember where to find it, unfortunately searching on this forum have never worked so try to take a look at brajesh’s site http://www.buddydev.com , or try to search further here via google SEARCH with keywords “brajesh buddypress registration form” etc , I know that the code was very long and he posted it publicly at pastedin.com
You dont’ need a plugin , use “custom post types” , it is very simple simple , google for it , you will find endless possibilities how to do it and you don’t need a plugin at all.
This is my last 3 days (100 logins) log: There’s only 1 successful spammer login , without IP ban I would have 100 new accounts.

So my advice is to ban every new bad IP and you will avoid 90% of spam , your only work is to ban every first new account with new IP which is in my case 1 ban in 2 weeks. Spammers will notice (probably using scrapebox – hrefer) that their run didn’t work and scrapebox or another tool will automaticaly remove your address from their lists. If this works some of them share your address on SEO blackhat websites all over the world , then your chances to get a spam rapidly increases.
P.S – I am not a spammer
, I like white-grey hat SEO but I read a lot about blackhat SEO techniques to avoid the spam on my websitesHi @rogercoathup, I have noticed that if you click on some link /button on your site that between every page load there’s a 1 sec white page blink , I had the same problem on http://www.4ella.com and have removed it by disactivating some plugins (I don’t remember which ones
), could you tell me how many plugins are you using ? Or are you trying to use more codes than plugins on your site because before I had about 70 plugins active , now I have only about 20 , the site is much more quicker now and I don’t see no white pages between page loads anymore , but there are many plugins which I miss a lot , so I am trying to find the way how to activate more plugins without slowing down the site and seeing white page between page loads.Hello , can you please publish here your solution ? I would be glad to see my new custom post types in activity too, to create new custom post type “portfolio” I use gravity forms
Hi Paul , sorry I didnt see your question in the past , YES unfortunately this is still happening in latest 1.5.6 buddypress , I have WP 3.4.1 and buddypress 1.5.6 installed , but little hack from @ray works perfect , maybe you should implement this snippet into a newer versions ?
are you sure that you have sent it to the correct address? I didn’ get anything

edit: sorry i have found it now
, will try to take a look nowyou send it here info@4ella.com , but I don’t consider myself theme expert !!

The best thing you can do is to use firefox addon firebug which will easily find you all css classes and their properties in your theme and you can edit them and live preview them and finally change them with your text editor, you don’t need any documentation at all, just play with it, if you are lost send me here the link and I will try to help you.
Does someone has some experience with roles ?
@mercime , so the name of the plugin which created issue is WP-simplicity , it is wordpress plugin , I was only testing it , and have forgotten that it has been installed , this plugin created those problems .
it works now , thanks @mercime , one of the plugins made this problem , tomorrow I will try to activate them back and will report which one creates this issue
`Another thing, View > Page Source. At the bottom of that source, do you see any strange characters or out-of-place HTML links/code etc?` Do you mean malicious javascript ? I will take a look now , thank you for noticing it , everything is possible , but this URL change has happened immediately after WP 3.3 upgrade , but as you ve said good idea will try to deactivate and reactivate all plugins
@mercime this is my .htaccess file:
`# BEGIN WordPressRewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index.php$ – [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]# END WordPress`
I dont see any .html here
Does your latest WP upgrade have changed permalinks structure ? I have the same problem , all pages in BP MENU has .html suffix , so if you click on groups you don’t arrive on http://www.yoursite.com/groups but on http://www.yoursite.com/groups.html , then you will get PAGE NOT FOUND the same as I get
