It was the first thing I did, I did it at least 5 times , but it doesnt work , I have changed permalinks to default, then I have changed them back to day/month/postname , but nothing has changed , when I have changed to default BP menu tabs (all tabs) shows http://www.mysite/.html URL , without specific page name in it , if I change it back to “day/month/postname” structure it shows : http://www.mysite.com/groups.html , http://www.mysite.com/activity.html but to see my activity page I need http://www.mysite.com/activity

nice , this is very needed feature , I am using @modemlooper code and it is working perfect , but it can’t work with different types of groups (I have 2-3 types of groups) pls try to create it with sets of templates for specific groups , for example if you have groups of photographers , you can create set of fields for photographers , if you have groups of model agencies , be able to create set of fields for model agencies (are different than photographers) and then every model agency will only click for their specific model agency group and will fill out their model agencies group form.

@inhouse unfortunately I don’t have a solution yet , I am not a programmer , my abitilty is only to read different forums be able to get info from them and to play with codes they provide me , PHP is very strange language for me yet, categorize members and groups is one of my priority requests , I hoped that with latest 1.5 version will be possible to do more and that somebody will come out with some interesteing plugin or even better code, but it seems that not too many people needs to categorize members & groups directories

I hope that somebody will respond you, I have the same question. You can find here on this forum one solution in the past where somebody used profile field search: http://www.yoursite.com/members/?s=Restaurants , so you only need to create some extended profile field : “member category groups” with values as RESTAURANTS ; BARS ; COFFEE BARS ; etc. and you will create some static button in the templates with URL: http://www.yoursite.com/members/?s=”MEMBERCATEGORYGROUPS” , but this is very bad solution, I would like to find more elegant, according extended profile field automaticaly build in member directory tabs

I have added width:570px and margin-left: -30px, it works but you have to control if this will not destroy another part of the site , control it , otherwise you can insert max-width: 570px; but I am not css and template expert!!

forget the question , it works now after installing “WP Page Numbers” plugin : http://www.jenst.se/2008/03/29/wp-page-numbers and putting the code instead default BP pagination code

I need to bump this , anybody knows ho can I change “previous entry – next entry” pagination code in index.php ‘‘ with 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 … 89 90 pagination , I have installed WP- PageNavi plugin but I can’t make it work in main index.php page

I have exactly the same problem . After replying on some activity post I get Page not found. I have latest Buddypress and wordpress with default theme and have never had Buddystream installed.

You can customize every home page with BP-frontpage plugin , there’s a option to have different .css file for every group , I use a lot this plugin

Hello , I have 2 questions :
1. How do you include only subscribers ? It means I would like to have only subscribers directory and ignore other roles.
2. How do you exclude more roles as for example subscribers + editors + moderators ? it means how should look like a code for more than 1 role?

Your code should work because this code : php bp_member_profile_data( ‘field=Country’ ); works for me in members-loop.php – didn’t try it in BP 1.5 yet

@qrahaman yes , group fields are already working for us on that link and I got from @brajesh http://www.buddydev.com even better solution for group custom fields (maybe non paid members can’t see it) :

I didn’t have a time till now to check it out , but as soon as possible I can I will check it out and if I understood it well it should help us to display whatever we wish if group value is EMPTY.

and as far as I know @slaffik have said that his plugin in future versions will work exactly as you’ve said (at least I wish it will work like that – you’ve perfectly described my wish how slaffik’s plugin should work.)

As far as I know those fields are already in GROUP creation form (in first step exactly ) , fields are also in GROUP edit form , everything working fine for me ( at least by me modified boone’s&modemlooper’s code http://pastebin.com/X2tn22ys ), fields are succesfully saved in database , we only don’t know how to display them in group-header.php.

@untilthen5 my PHP knowledge is adequate to zero , so I didn’t find any solution , I was studying @slaffik ‘s plugin to find something what should help us to display those fields , with my PHP knowledge I gave it up immediately.
Slaffik’s Group Extras plugin is great , even greater now with adding unlimited group pages, it miss only function to memorize the sets of fields for all groups (you should create for every single group those sets of fields over and over again , @slaffik promised to finish it too).
boone’s & modemlooper’s code is very quick and for me perfect solution because I don’t need the sets of fields. I need only 1 set of 10-15 extra fields on first Group creation step page which will better describe every group . Fields thanks Boone and Modemlooper we managed to get to insert into database, so group admins should see them now , fill them out , but without displaying those fields for public is now at least for me unfortunately useless .
It looks like displaying those fields in groups doesn’t seem so simple as we were thinking (the way of displaying the fields in profiles as we know is very easy). @modemlooper said after he will finish his other works he has also intention to finish this small but very useful plugin – I suppose he meant with displaying all those fields in the template so I am going to wait when someone of them will come with fully working plugin.
