@acousins Hi acousins,
I’m wondering if you could provide some insights. I’ve tried to get the file attachment plugin to work, but it won’t detect the upload directory. I have a feeling that the space in one of the folder names is the cause, but I can’t figure out how to work around it.

you can write your own custom blog loop, see: https://codex.buddypress.org/developer-docs/custom-buddypress-loops/the-blogs-loop/
and make use of some of the functions in bp-blogs-templatetags.php to check for blog name, etc. and exclude as appropriate.
