Did you have a look at rockettheme’s wp themes (the ones based on gantry framework)?
I’ve tried to add support for buddypress but it doesn’t work well. I’m missing page title and sidebar isn’t showing up.
I’ve a pro membership with rockettheme. Let me know if you’d like to help me with it. Thanks.

    Hi Ali, no I didn’t fix the issues with rockettheme’s templates.
    BP’s page title doesn’t show up and doesn’t work.

      Did you change rockettheme’s header.php’s title? You need to change the function of title. WP’s title function is something like that:
      
      wp_title(‘«’, true, ‘right’);
      
      You should change it to that:
      
      bp_page_title()
      
      You need to replace the function. Hope that works…

I have just tried another (different) theme: Gradient 1.0.1 by Sandeep Hegde
and I still cannot Create a Group and cannot do any other function which requires groups.

@alierkurt I did . Still no luck. I am using *subdirectory* type of Multisite. BP Avatar works fine in activity, BP profile etc but Gravatar still shows up in WP blog comments. Can the php gurus pleaseee help!

@alierkurt; I found your post here whilst taking a break from, well, breaking things in BP. 😉

Not sure what you mean though. Why would members need to post in a group they haven’t joined? I’d have thought that’s the basic idea; you join one to post in it (and read too, if it’s hidden).
