I think lselwd is getting confused at some of my replies where I stated setting up multisite gives you your own *version* of wordpress.com. It works like that, but it not it. 😉

Then click the “add site” button to make /community/. Activate buddypress there. put your buddypress theme on that blog. Problem solved.

If not, mod_rewrite is not reading the htaccess file.

Then you’ll need to put them on their own install.

Not a buddypress issue. It’s all to o with the blog settings.

To test: disable buddypress. Try to comment while logged out.
